The tower learns what day it is
Until this month the game counted days the way a stopwatch counts laps. Now it keeps a calendar, and the calendar pushes back.
A date, not a number
Every tower now founds on Monday, January 1st, 2029. The top bar still counts your days, and beside the count it shows the weekday and the date. You can set the order the date reads in, and whether the clock runs twelve or twenty-four hours, from the settings screen. Leap years work; we checked February 29th, 2032 by hand.
The part we like most is that the calendar is not decoration. Offices sign their leases on business days. As of this build the venue trade dips on the real weekend, Saturday and Sunday, the same two days as yours. Earlier builds had a quiet bug here: the slow day drifted one weekday later every cycle, because an old rule still counted an eight-day week. Our test players caught it inside thirty-six simulated days.
The sky keeps the same time
The sun over the tower rises and sets when it actually would in Waterloo, Ontario, on that date. June evenings run long, December afternoons die early, and the arithmetic behind it comes from published solar equations, not from a mood dial. The moon runs on the same arithmetic: its phase on any date matches the sky outside your window.
And on January 14th, 2029 — day fourteen of a brand-new tower — a partial solar eclipse crosses the sky on schedule, because the real one will. We validated it against the published circumstances. There is something satisfying about a game calendar honest enough that you could plan a viewing party by it.
Words that tell the truth
One more change, small on the surface: tenants who leave after a poor review are no longer called evicted. They moved out. You did not remove them; the building failed them and they went. Eviction is now reserved for the one case where it is true — when you buy out a lease yourself. Every notice, ledger line, and report uses the honest word.
